Plumstead ManorTrip to Maun2027

Maun Trip

We are excited to invite students from Plumstead Manor School to take part in the Camp Botswana Programme, an unforgettable two-week international work experience adventure

Set in one of Africa’s most remarkable environments, Maun offers a unique blend of wildlife, culture and community life, making it the perfect setting for a truly immersive learning experience.

During the programme, students will gain hands-on work experience by supporting local primary schools, visiting an elephant sanctuary, and spending time on a farm, providing a real insight into everyday life and conservation efforts in Botswana.

Students will also learn traditional local skills directly from members of the community, including basket weaving, pottery and bush craft. These activities give students the opportunity to discover Botswana’s rich cultural heritage while learning practical skills that have been passed down through generations.

Adventure is a key part of the experience. Students will explore the incredible landscapes around Maun through safari experiences and horse riding, with the chance to see Africa’s iconic wildlife and experience the beauty of Botswana’s natural environment up close.

Throughout the two weeks, students will develop valuable life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, resilience, independence and cultural awareness. By stepping outside their comfort zones and experiencing a completely new environment, they will grow in confidence and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
